How Long Should a Professional Painting Job Take?
One of the most common questions I get in Armidale is how long a paint job should take.
The honest answer is: it depends on the size, condition and level of preparation required.
A standard interior repaint for a 3-bedroom home may take anywhere from 5–10 days.
A full interior with heavy preparation, stain blocking or trim work can take longer.
Exterior painting often takes longer again because weather, access and surface condition all play a big part.
Preparation is usually the biggest factor.
Cleaning, sanding, patching, caulking and priming all take time—but they’re what make the paint last.
Be cautious of anyone promising unrealistically fast turnarounds.
Fast isn’t always efficient.
Sometimes it means corners are being cut.
A professional painter should be able to give you a realistic timeline before starting and explain what could affect it.
Good painting takes time.
Rushed painting usually shows.
